Shrivenham Fete Committee

The Shrivenham Fete Committee was created in 1980 and the current team organises several events throughout the year, the largest being the Summer Fete on the August Bank Holiday Saturday.  Each year we purchase and put up the village Christmas Tree, organise the Village Christmas “Carols Around the Tree” service and hold an annual Boxing Day "Woozel Hunt" where villagers can get together to walk off any Christmas Day Excesses!  We also organise a free "Party on the Rec" during one of the May Bank Holiday weekends as a way of saying thank-you to the village for supporting our various events, and as an excuse for a village party!

If any profits are generated throughout the year then small grants are awarded at the February AGM to any local good causes in the Shrivenham area who have applied.  Applications for grants are open for a 3-month period from the beginning of November until the end of the following January via the contact page on our web site.

The Shrivenham Village Fete Committee meets monthly, on the second Monday of each month, at 8:15 in the Vic Day Hall of the Shrivenham Memorial Hall – new members are always welcome!
