ALLOTMENTS

Our allotment gardens are situated between Townsend Road and Colton Road.

To enquire about a plot please contact Cllr Sheldon on bob.sheldon@shrivenham.org

or the Parish Clerk on clerk@shrivenham.org

We also have an allotment gardens association (SAGA) which is independently run.

Shrivenham Allotment Gardens Association was formed in early 2021 to promote the interests of all plot holders in their gardening activities and to take joint action for the benefit of all members.  Allotmenteers are represented by a committee that has developed links with Shrivenham Parish Council as landowner to promote the allotments, develop allotment facilities and governance and protect them.  It will take action to protect members and their plots against damage, trespass and theft by seeking to ensure that the allotment site is secure from vandals, dog fouling and other anti-social activities.

The Association is affiliated to the National Allotment Society (NAS). For a small annual charge, plot holders have the option to become affiliate members of the NAS to gain the benefits offered.  These include Allotmenteers’ Liability Insurance, discounted quality seeds, seed potatoes and onions etc from King’s Seeds [usually 40%], a quarterly e-magazine and monthly e-news, as well as access to the Member’s Area on the NAS website that includes useful information.

Shrivenham Allotment Gardens Association produces a monthly newsletter, holds events to raise money for improvements to the site and runs social events and day trips to appropriate shows.
